Ahoy mates! Calling all Swashbucklers, pirates, and those who love High Sea adventures. Karen Perkins has penned a unique series. ILL Wind: You'll sail from the colonial Massachusetts Bay to the Caribbean along with Gabriella Berryngton. A fourteen year old seeks a release from her depressed home-life. Thinking being sold in a marriage arrangement by her father would be an answer to her prayers she sail away to her unknown groom... She discovered marriage is not the bed of roses she expected. And so the saga begins... In Look Sharpe: You will pick up with the story of Lord Henry Rowleston. The Lord faces his reality on his father's deathbed. He faces financial ruin. He hopes a journey to his uncle in the Caribbean is the answer to his problem. Ah alas, they are not. Now under the name Henry Sharpe he learns that his uncle isn't his salvation. But, maybe his damnation instead. ************ Karen Perkins has down a bang up job with her characters. She also has brought to life the realities that might have been, so many years ago aboard a sailing ship that hunted and plundered. She uses the first person narrative well. Each book in the series has it's own original feel. Lovers of the historical high seas and it's ships or just an island lover you might just want to try one of her books in the “ The Valkyrie Series” link to her Amazon books list > HERE Her Facebook page > Here This review has been brought to you courtesy of: Thank you for your visit . Know what’s unique about a book. Whether just off ‟the press” or released years ago when you get to read it; it doesn’t matter. I just had a chance to read Melissa Harlow’s 2009 release of: Stolen Property. She has a talent to make feel the emotional concerns of her characters real. She forces you to become one with them. In Stolen Property she has you dancing between her two leading characters. Your heart aches as the story opens with Mayree disclosing the pain of being bullied for not being built like a super model. You will want to hold Mayree’s hand, and help her through the pain of being real flesh and blood and it’s, OK not to be a size 6. Ms. Harlow quickly carries the plot forward and you’re now hating the rough, touch, and mean--Quinn. Knowing she’ll be turning the tables and have you rooting for him. If Mayree won’t say what Quinn needs to hear—you’ll shout it out for her. I will not be commenting on her intimate scenes. There’s no need to, any one who ever read anything by, Ms. Harlow knows she knows how to write them just fine.(maybe too fine.) So, if you like your heroine to be real woman and not a Barbie Doll. If you like your hero a real man with scars (inside and out)who makes mistakes, some time’s majors ones, then... Pick up or download your own copy of Stolen Property and enjoy. I know I did. http://www.amazon.com/STOLEN-PROPERTY-ABDUCTION-MAYREE-ebook/dp/B0038STZI4 Find more about Melissa Harlow http://www.melissaharlow.com/ |
